WASHINGTON — Seven Republican state attorneys general thanked the Trump administration on Friday for its commitment to helping states prosecute violent crime.
Theattorneysgeneral,whowillbejoiningPresidentDonaldTrumpforhisremarksattheDepartmentofJustice(DOJ)thisafternoon,saidtheyarealreadyseeingimprovementsinareasofpublicsafetyandimmigrationenforcementthatwereneglectedundertheBidenadministration.
“I’vereceivedmorephonecallsfromtheDepartmentofJusticeonhowwecancollaborateandworktogetherinthefirst30daysunderGeneralBondithanIdidinmypreviousthreeyearsasattorneygeneral,”VirginiaAttorneyGeneralJasonMiyaressaid.
“Ican’ttellyouwhatanightanddaydifferencewe’veseenwiththisJusticeDepartment,takingthesetransnationalgangsseriously,takingthescourgeoffentanylseriously,goingafterthecartels,”Miyaressaid.“Weknowtheresultsaregoingtobedifferent.”
